Electrical Maintenance of Caravans & Motorcaravans - Certificate Renewal
This online refresher is replacing the familiar "NCC Electrical Refresher E-Course & E-Assessment" and is available to renew your electrical certificates for another 5 years.
As our industry progresses, so do we. That's why at NCC Training Academy, we're innovating our electrical training for Leisure Vehicles.
If you've already completed Electrical Test & Inspection and Electrical Systems & Circuits, rest assured that your certifications remain valid. When they expire, you'll have the option to complete this new online refresher which will bring you in line with the new format.
This online learning contains 15 modules, each module is assessed at the end and you must pass to move onto the next module. Upon successful completion of all modules, you will be issued a certificate extending your electrical certificates for another 5 years.

Why has the NCC Training Academy developed an electrical refresher as an online course?
- Building on the success of previously delivered electrical courses, NCC Training Academy has decided to use the new learning technology of online learning to deliver the Electrical Refresher online learning.
- This allows anytime, any place, anywhere learning via any digital device you have available to complete the online course and online assessment.
- By completing online, the online programme offer an economical and effective way of re-validation.
Why 5-year validity?
- Demonstration of your knowledge in every electrical safety procedure, is to be made at least every 5 years and your certificates must be re-registered within that period.
- technicians should be re-certified to ensure they remain compliant considering changes to British Standards (BS). For example, BS 7671:2018 came into force on 1st January 2019.
- You can renew your Test & Inspection and ELV or Level 1&2 6 months before, or up to a year after expiry, after which you must attend the classroom courses again. Although you can renew up to a year after expiry, you must not sign off electrical works once your certificates have expired.
How long will it take to complete?
- We anticipate around 15-20 hours to complete this online course.
Do I need any pre-requisite qualifications
NCC Electrical maintenance certificate renewal is only suitable for operatives who currently hold the following Certificate of Achievements:
- NCC Electrical Maintenance of Touring Caravans and Motorhomes Test & Inspection
- NCC Electrical Maintenance of Touring Caravans and Motorhome Systems, Circuits and Equipment
OR - Electrical Maintenance Level 1 & 2
Can I take the online course and online assessment without any of these qualifications?
- No, you are unable to apply for NCC Electrical Maintenance Certificate Renewal without pre-requisite qualifications.
- If you have alternative electrical qualifications, not listed above, you will not be eligible to take this assessment.
- Delegates with the appropriate certificates that have expired or have less than 6 months before expiry are eligible to apply for this certificate renewal.
